A scriptable program is one that can respond to Apple Events.  A recordable program is one that generates those events for you as you use it - just like recording a macro.  ScriptMaster XT™ now makes QuarkXPress recordable by generating scripting events while you work.  With ScriptMaster you don't need to learn how to write scripts because it generates the proper scripting syntax automatically.  You just record your actions as you work and then play the script back!

  40. Differences Between the Full Version and the Demo Version:

  42. The demo version of ScriptMaster XT causes QuarkXPress to run in demo mode.  Any documents that you save while in demo mode will not be readable by QuarkXPress while in its normal mode.

  44. Most of the event recording has been disabled, except for:

  46. •  The View menu
  47. •  The tool palettes
  48. •  Window resizing

  50. The ScriptMaster Suite is visible with the QuarkXPress dictionary but all calls to it return error messages: 
  51. “This event is not implemented in the ScriptMaster XT Demo”.

  55. 1.  Place the ScriptMaster XT extension in the QuarkXPress XTension  folder.

  57. 2.  Place the Scripts  folder in the same folder as the QuarkXPress application.

  59. (If you do not have the AppleScript system software installed, you will need to install it and reboot your computer.)
